About Me

Dr. Bob: Robert Ruggieri MD was born & raised in RI. He attended the University of Rhode Island and Stanford University to attain a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He moved to Hawaii in 1983 and later attended UH-John A. Burns School of Medicine from 1987-1991. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine in Massachusetts in 1994, and worked there until 1999 when he returned to Hawaii to work in Queen’s Hospital until 2006 when he opened “Kahala Urgent Care”, soon to become what is now known as Island Urgent Care. He continues to work at all 3 locations and enjoys family time and mountain biking and kite-surfing in his spare time.
